MDC Natural Areas Newsletter 2024
As cofounder and Project Director for Missouri Conservation Corps, I was excited to be interviewed last year by Eric Hempel for an article on trees and public health. Hempel, Director of Columbia’s Office of Sustainability, submitted the article to Missouri Department of Conservation’s Natural Areas Newsletter, an annual publication focused on the conservation of Missouri’s native flora and fauna. The article is entitled “The Value of Trees in Enhancing Community Health, Resilience, and Connection,” on page 49 of the 2024 MDC Natural Areas Newsletter. It also features interviews with Columbia’s City Arborist Steve Fritz, Dr. Jennifer First, Corrina McClee, and Dave Dittmer.
