Missouri Conservation Corps has spent a very busy week in Columbia, removing honeysuckle in Kiwanis Park, canvassing the central city to offer trees to willing homeowners, partnering with local and regional organizations to improve our City’s urban tree canopy, and handing out native trees from Forest ReLeaf and Forrest Keeling Nursery during the Callery Pear Buyback event on April 22nd at the Missouri Department of Conservation.
This weekend our schedule becomes even busier, as we participate in the Columbia Parks and Recreation tree wrap and tree giveaway events at the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market in Columbia, and in a central Columbia tree giveaway on Saturday afternoon. We will also be hosting a Missouri Conservation Corps booth at the Birds, Bees, and Blooms Festival in Arrow Rock on Saturday, organized by our friends from Missouri River Bird Observatory, and we will be in Columbia for the Columbia Earth Day Festival on Sunday.
