Missouri Conservation Corps would like to thank the teachers of the Boone County Nature School for joining us to battle and remove invasive honeysuckle around the school’s cherished champion oak tree in Classroom 5 of the Boone County Nature School in mid-May.
Teachers and volunteers enjoyed a very pleasant late spring morning as we cut honeysuckle, restored habitat, and discovered a few native plants and fungi along the way. Missouri Conservation Corps will plan additional work days at the Nature School in Fall 2025. It was great to meet these intrepid instructors and to improve the habitat of Boone County’s newest outdoor school!
