On December 1st, 2025, Missouri Conservation Corps once again participated in the cherished local fundraiser called CoMoGives. Organized and hosted by the Community Foundation of Central Missouri, the 2025 CoMoGives campaign featured 179 nonprofit organizations from central Missouri. Over $2,000,000 was raised during the month-long campaign, and Missouri Conservation Corps is happy to report that we received 54 donations and raised $5,405. This funding will help us pay for the work done in 2026 by our Missouri Conservation Corps Naturalist, Laura Semken. This funding will also help to pay for our involvement with the Camp I Love Me Summer Camp, a subsidized summer camp in Columbia that gives children the opportunity to explore nature with our organization each week in Columbia’s parks, creeks and trails.
CoMoGives was also an opportunity for Missouri Conservation Corps to review the work we did in 2025, and to take our experiences and to turn them into stories. Twice each week during CoMoGives, our staff members crafted stories revolving around our significant activities of 2025. We shared these stories via our website, and through our social media channels. These stories, embellished with photos taken during the events, now inhabit a new area of our website called “CoMoGives 2025 Stories”. Twelve new stories adorn these pages (okay, so maybe we were cranking out three stories each week… December was a blur), ranging from topics on urban tree planting, to monarch butterfly tagging, from creek exploration to our volunteer metrics for 2025. Although CoMoGives 2025 is now over, Missouri Conservation Corps is still raising money to help pay for our 2026 programming, including the Camp I Love Me Summer Camp, and our urban tree planting program.
