DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps and the Columbia Audubon Society will be hosting their fourth annual guided bird hike on THURSDAY\, May 7th from 7 – 9 am at Kiwanis Park (E). Meet us at the Thurston Shelter on the East side of Kiwanis Park (1001 Maplewood Dr) for an early morning hike as we look for and record the different species of birds we spot this spring! \nParticipants are encouraged to wear outdoor and weather appropriate clothing and to bring a reusable water bottle. This event has been postponed from its original date and will take place on Thursday\, May 7th\, at the same time and place. Let us know you’re coming by registering below!

SUMMARY:Kiwanis Park Guided Bird Hike with Columbia Audubon Society and Missouri Conservation Corps
DESCRIPTION:If you are interested in learning more about the migratory birds that travel through Missouri each year during the spring\, come and join us in Kiwanis Park on Tuesday\, May 6th.  This is the date of our third annual guided bird hike with the Columbia Audubon Society. \nParticipants are asked to meet in the park’s east parking lot at Thurston Shelter at 7:00 a.m.\, May 6th.  We will be guided through the park by Audubon Society member John Besser as we survey this heavily forested park for its avian residents and travelers.  This event will last approximately 1.5 hours\, and our group will be traversing steep and uneven terrain.  Sturdy hiking shoes and a water bottle will be very helpful during the hike.  In case of rain\, please pack a raincoat. \nOur Kiwanis Park guided bird hikes in 2023 and 2024 were wonderfully successful\, so we are asking participants to pre-register for this event by emailing Missouri Conservation Corps Project Director Stephen Bybee at stephen@missouriconservationcorps.org

SUMMARY:Guided Bird Hike--Kiwanis Park
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is once again teaming up with the talented members of the Columbia Audubon Society to host a guided bird hike on Wednesday\, May 8th\, in Columbia’s Kiwanis Park.  We will meet at Thurston Shelter on the east side of the park at 7 a.m. on May 8th to meet CAS member and hike guide John Besser.  We will be looking for birds in the recently improved habitat of 20 acre Kiwanis Park…the hike duration is expected to be two hours.  BYO binoculars.  For more information\, contact Missouri Conservation Corps or Columbia Audubon Society.  This is our second annual bird hike in Kiwanis Park\, and we hope to document even more birds than last year’s hike!
