DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps will host a booth at Columbia’s Earth Day on Sunday\, April 27th from noon to 6 p.m. in downtown Columbia.  We will be located in a booth next to US Fish and Wildlife on Elm Street\, and we will have limited quantities of our new Missouri Conservation Corps t-shirts for sale\, as well as educational activities for kids\, and information on invasive species and on our upcoming events.

SUMMARY:Birds\, Bees and Blooms Festival in Arrow Rock
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is excited to host a booth at this year’s Birds\, Bees and Blooms Festival in the historic village of Arrow Rock\, Missouri.  This year’s festival will feature guided bird hikes led by the Columbia Audubon Society\, Wild Edible Foraging Hikes\, and more than 30 booths on Arrow Rock’s Main Street. \nOrganized by our friends at the Missouri River Bird Observatory\, The Birds\, Bees & Blooms Festival’s goal is to raise awareness for animals\, plants and nature in general and provide a fun\, family-oriented experience in the surroundings of Arrow Rock. \nThis festival will have more than 30 booths with activities\, educational demonstrations\, crafts\, food\, ecological info of all kinds\, and nature-related items for sale.  Guided bird and wild edibles hikes around the Arrow Rock State Historic Site and adjacent Big Muddy National Wildlife Refuge\, fishing\, presentations will take place throughout the day and even get your photo taken with a Bald Eagle! \nThe Birds\, Bees and Blooms Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, April 26th in Arrow Rock\, Missouri.  The early guided bird hike takes place at 8:00 a.m. for early-rising participants!  For more information on this incredible event\, visit the MRBO Website at https://mrbo.org/MRBO/Festivals.aspx \n

DESCRIPTION:Winter Speaker Series 2025 \nIntroduction to Plant Propagation \nWednesday\, February 12\, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. \nRiechmann Pavilion\, 2300 East Walnut \n  \nStephens Lake Arboretum\, Columbia’s Level II Arboretum\, in conjunction with Columbia Parks and Recreation\, will be hosting a winter speaker’s series dedicated to discussions of native plants\, planting for pollinators\, and edible urban landscapes. Speakers will include Dr. Nadia Navarrete-Tindall\, Ryan Russell\, Matthew Dolan and Dr. Mark Coggeshall. \nStephens Lake Arboretum is a Level II Arboretum located in Columbia’s Stephens Lake Park. This local arboretum has a new group of volunteers committed to maintaining the plant health and landscape of the arboretum\, and the winter lecture series will be an opportunity to bring some visibility to the Arboretum and its treasures. \nThese lecture events will take place on Wednesday evenings in February and March\, beginning at 6 p.m. in Riechmann Pavilion\, 2300 East Walnut Street. \n
