SUMMARY:Volunteer Honeysuckle Removal Event at Boone County Nature School
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps and the Boone County Nature School are teaming up to remove invasive honeysuckle and restore native habitat at the Boone County Nature School\, 8989 South Tom Bass Road\, Columbia\, MO on Tuesday\, May 20th.  This event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will involve cutting\, hacking and pulling invasive honeysuckle and autumn olive.  Parking is available in the main parking lot next to the main school building.  Work will be done around a large oak tree west of the school building\, a five minute hiking from the parking area.  As always\, Missouri Conservation Corps will provide the tools\, training\, gloves and cold water for this event…volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for working in a forested\, brushy environment and to bring a reusable water bottle.  For more information\, or to register for this event\, contact Project Director Stephen Bybee at stephen@missouriconservationcorps.org

SUMMARY:Flat Branch Creek Cleanup on the MKT Trail
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is hosting its first creek cleanup on Columbia’s Flat Branch Creek on Sunday\, March 9th.  The cleanup will take place between MKT Trail bridges #2 and #3\, and volunteers are asked to meet in Grasslands Park\, 21 East Clarkson Road.  Missouri Conservation Corps and Missouri Stream Team will provide the gloves and trash bags\, and volunteers are asked to wear sturdy boots and clothing appropriate to the weather.  If you have waterproof boots or waders\, those will help us get into the deeper portions of the creek to remove trash and debris. \nThe creek cleanup will run from 1-3 p.m.\, followed by a social event in the park from 3-4 p.m. with hot cocoa and maybe even some sunshine!  Join us on Sunday\, March 9th in Columbia’s Grasslands Park for our first volunteer event of the year\, and a chance to clean up one of Columbia’s most cherished watersheds! \nFor more information on this event\, or to register for this event\, contact Missouri Conservation Corps Project Director Stephen Bybee at stephen@missouriconservationcorps.org \n

DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is partnering with Missouri River Bird Observatory and Arrow Rock State Historic Site to remove invasive privet in the historic village of Arrow Rock.  Join us as we bring volunteers to Arrow Rock to improve the bird habitat and the hiking trails in the beautiful Arrow Rock State Historic Site\, 39521 Visitor Center Drive\, Arrow Rock.  MCC and MRBO will host two volunteer work days this fall\, on Saturday\, October 19th\, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, and again on Saturday\, November 2nd\, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. \nVolunteers will meet in the parking lot of the Arrow Rock Visitor Center\, 39521 Visitor Center Drive\, Arrow Rock.  Missouri Conservation Corps will provide tools\, gloves\, water\, and training.  Missouri River Bird Observatory will provide training\, management\, and a one hour children’s activity for children accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Arrow Rock State Historic Site will provide lunch on October 19th\, and snacks on November 2nd. \nFor more information contact Missouri Conservation Corps Project Director Stephen Bybee at stephen@missouriconservationcorps.org.
