SUMMARY:Monarch Migration Family Day
DESCRIPTION:The Boonslick Master Gardeners of Cooper County will host a Monarch Migration Family Day on Saturday\, September 12th from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Boonville Katy Depot located at 320 1st St in Boonville. There will be a lot of exciting activities for kids\, plus expert advice on pollinator gardening. \nLaura Semken with Missouri Conservation Corps will lead participants in tagging Monarch butterflies to better understand their journey south\, the mayor will issue a proclamation\, and the United States Postal Service will provide a special pictorial cancellation. There will be face painting and door prizes\, and you can even pretend to be a Monarch migrating! Come join this free event and support our beautiful monarch population!

DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the Monarch Journey! \nJoin Missouri Conservation Corps Naturalist Laura Semken on Saturday\, September 26th from 9 am – 12 pm at the Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge Headquarters (18500 Brady Lane Boonville\, MO) for a drop-in monarch tagging program. Hike\, tag Monarch butterflies\, and play a migration game during this family-friendly event. Come for the whole morning or just for a little while\, no registration necessary. \nInsect nets will be provided. Boots and long pants are recommended\, as catching butterflies could involve going off trail.
