SUMMARY:Tree Planting at Grindstone Nature Area
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is teaming up with Columbia Parks & Recreation and Boone County Stormwater Management to plant 12 new trees at Grindstone Nature Area on Thursday\, April 30th\, from 10 am – 12 pm. This tree planting is part of a collaborative effort to improve water quality and riparian buffers in Columbia’s local watersheds\, and to add additional trees to community spaces. \nAll tools and training will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoor work and to bring a reusable water bottle. SUMMARY:Pop-Up Honeysuckle Hack at Garth Nature Area!
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, April 30th\, Missouri Conservation Corps will host a pop-up honeysuckle removal event in Columbia’s Garth Nature Area\, 2799 North Garth. This event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. \nIf you have never joined us for a volunteer event\, we will provide the tools\, gloves\, bug spray and training. We ask our volunteers to wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. \nWe will be working to remove invasive honeysuckle and autumn olive from this 52-acre park on the north side of Columbia.  If you have any questions about this event\, or would like to register\, contact our Project Director Stephen Bybee at stephen@missouriconservationcorps.org \n  \n
