SUMMARY:Volunteer Honeysuckle Removal at Kiwanis Park (West Side)
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is organizing a volunteer honeysuckle cutting event on Wednesday\, June 10th\, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on the west side of Kiwanis Park\, 926 College Park Dr. Volunteers will be cutting\, hacking and pulling invasive honeysuckle. This will be our last honeysuckle removal of spring/summer 2026! \nVolunteers can meet in the parking area\, and we will walk to our work site in the park. Missouri Conservation Corps will provide the tools\, training\, and gloves for this event. Volunteers will need to wear sturdy footwear\, dress for the weather\, and bring a water bottle. \nTo register for this event\, use the registration button below. SUMMARY:Design your own Pollinator Garden at the Columbia Farmer's Market
DESCRIPTION:Stop by the One-Room Schoolhouse at the Columbia Farmers Market on Saturday\, June 13th\, from 8:00 am until Noon to explore the wonders of attracting butterflies and other pollinators to your community! Missouri Conservation Corps naturalist Laura Semken will be leading a collaborative mural activity for all ages called Design your Own Pollinator Garden. Kids will get to create their own butterfly\, too. Information about keystone native plants that support pollinators will be available. If you plant it\, they will come!

SUMMARY:RESCHEDULED Creek Week: Historic Wells & Springs Tour
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 25th\, local historian and Historic Preservation Commission President Stephen Bybee will take participants on a walking tour of downtown Columbia. Focusing on early industry and community water sources in this 200-year-old city\, Bybee will lead the group to various sites in Columbia that once featured mineral springs\, wells\, cisterns\, and early livery stables\, flouring mills and blacksmith shops. \nParticipants will meet on the bridge in Flat Branch Park at 6 p.m. The tour will last approximately one hour and will meander from the bridge in Flat Branch Park\, to the historic Tiger Hotel\, from Peace Park to the historic corner of Ninth and Cherry Street. The tour will largely be confined to sidewalks\, streets\, and alleyways\, but there is an optional walk across a grassy slope on the MU campus.
