SUMMARY:Again Park Volunteer Event and Food Drive!
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is excited to work on the habitat in Columbia’s Again Park\, a 10-acre park near West Boulevard Elementary School. Our first event in Again Park brought more than 30 volunteers to help us cut invasive honeysuckle and pick up trash in the park\, and in September we will be returning to Again Park to cut honeysuckle\, to pick up trash\, and to create a space for native trees and plants to be planted later this fall. We are also excited to host a food drive for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri during our volunteer event on Saturday\, September 26th in Again Park! \nOn Saturday\, September 26th Missouri Conservation Corps will host a volunteer honeysuckle removal event AND a food drive in Columbia’s Again Park\, located at 1200 Again Street\, running from 10 a.m. until noon. Come join us as we restore native habitat while also tackling hunger in our community! \nThis event is open to volunteers of all ages and skill levels. Missouri Conservation Corps will provide the tools\, gloves and training before the event begins\, and we will also provide snacks and cold water for all our volunteers. Pizza will be provided for all of our volunteers at the end of the event in the park shelter. \nLocated just south of Worley on Again Street\, Again Street Park is a 10-acre park in west central Columbia. Originally conveyed to the City of Columbia by Columbia Public Schools\, this beautiful park features sports fields\, exercise facilities\, playgrounds\, and the headwaters of the County House Branch watershed. Come join us on Saturday\, September 26th as we work to restore native habitat and water quality in this beloved park in Columbia! We will meet at 10 a.m. at 1200 Again Street to start this event. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a water bottle and to dress for the weather and for working in a rugged\, brushy environment. \nFor more information about this event\, contact Missouri Conservation Corps Project Director Stephen Bybee\, or register below.
