SUMMARY:Kiwanis Park Volunteer Honeysuckle Work Event (West Side)
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is hosting a volunteer work event in Kiwanis Park on Wednesday\, April 8th\, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the west side of the park\, meeting at Odor Shelter\, 926 College Park Drive. Our work will involve cutting\, hacking\, and pulling invasive honeysuckle. SUMMARY:Tree Planting at Grindstone Nature Area
DESCRIPTION:Missouri Conservation Corps is teaming up with Columbia Parks & Recreation and Boone County Stormwater Management to plant 12 new trees at Grindstone Nature Area on Thursday\, April 30th\, from 10 am – 12 pm. This tree planting is part of a collaborative effort to improve water quality and riparian buffers in Columbia’s local watersheds\, and to add additional trees to community spaces. \nAll tools and training will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoor work and to bring a reusable water bottle.
