About the Event

On Saturday, October 12th Missouri Conservation Corps is collaborating with Columbia Audubon Society, Columbia Parks and Rec, and Wild Ones to host a volunteer work day in Columbia’s Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary.  This free volunteer event will run from 9 a.m. until noon and will involve invasive species removal and habitat restoration at the Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary, 3300 West Rollins Road.  We will be cutting invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive, and multiflora rose in this 90 acre public park and nature sanctuary on the west side of Columbia.

Missouri Conservation Corps and Columbia Audubon Society will provide gloves, tools, bug spray and training.  Volunteers are asked to bring a re-usable water bottle and to wear long pants and sturdy shoes, as much of our work will be done in brushy, thorny areas of the park.  Training and direction will be provided to volunteers at 9 a.m. at the shelter near the parking area.  Missouri Conservation Corps will also supply cold water, and pizza will be served after the work ends at noon!
