Flat Branch Creek Cleanup

About the Event

Missouri Conservation Corps, in collaboration with Missouri Stream Team, is planning an early spring creek cleanup on Columbia’s Flat Branch Creek in March 2026.  March 8th has been proposed as a good day to clean a creek, and we are very hopeful that the weather and the creek will cooperate.  Last year we brought over 65 volunteers to Flat Branch Creek to pick up trash and to remove furniture, tires, and other debris.  We are going to pencil in this date as our spring creek cleanup date, and if things change, we will let you know very soon!

Volunteers will meet at Columbia’s Grasslands Park and will walk to the MKT Trail from there.  The cleanup will take place between Bridge #1 and Bridge #3 on the MKT Trail.  Missouri Conservation Corps will provide the gloves, tools, and training for this event, and if the weather cooperates we will grill hot dogs in Grasslands Park after the cleanup.
