Volunteer Honeysuckle Cutting in Garth Nature Area

About the Event

Missouri Conservation Corps is hosting a honeysuckle cutting volunteer work day at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 7th in Garth Nature Area, 2799 North Garth, in Columbia.  Volunteers can park in the Garth Nature Area parking lot located at 2799 North Garth.  We will be cutting and removing honeysuckle on the pedestrian trail inside the nature area, just west of the parking lot.  MCC will provide the tools, training, bug spray and cold water.  Volunteers will need to dress for working in heavy brush along the trail…sturdy footwear, and long pants are advised.  We will be using hand saws and loppers to cut some VERY LARGE honeysuckle along the trail inside the wetlands area, just west of the parking lot and the dog park.  Volunteer work will begin at 9 a.m. and the event will run from 9-11 a.m.  For more information contact Project Director Stephen Bybee at [email protected]
