Volunteer Honeysuckle Removal Event at Boone County Nature School

About the Event

Missouri Conservation Corps and the Boone County Nature School are teaming up to remove invasive honeysuckle and restore native habitat at the Boone County Nature School, 8989 South Tom Bass Road, Columbia, MO on Tuesday, May 20th.  This event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will involve cutting, hacking and pulling invasive honeysuckle and autumn olive.  Parking is available in the main parking lot next to the main school building.  Work will be done around a large oak tree west of the school building, a five minute hiking from the parking area.  As always, Missouri Conservation Corps will provide the tools, training, gloves and cold water for this event…volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for working in a forested, brushy environment and to bring a reusable water bottle.  For more information, or to register for this event, contact Project Director Stephen Bybee at [email protected]
