Naturalist Laura Semken has been working with Missouri Conservation Corps since 2023, bringing environmental education to our volunteer work events, and serving as an educator during our Summer Camp mornings. In 2025 Laura developed a series of community events called Monarch Journey, designed to teach participants the magic and importance of Monarch butterflies, while collecting scientific data on Monarchs in central Missouri. These events brought families, students, and community members out to engage in citizen science activities centered around the Monarch butterfly.
Your donation to Missouri Conservation Corps during CoMoGives 2025 will help Laura continue her Monarch Journey program in 2026 and will help us develop more opportunities for community-based environmental education in central Missouri.
