Missouri Conservation Corps has had a busy, busy year bringing volunteers to Columbia’s parks, trails and green spaces to remove invasives, restore habitat, clean up creeks, plant trees and promote environmental education with the youthful members of our community. As our volunteer season begins to wind down, we are looking forward to another busy and exciting CoMoGives campaign in December! This year CoMoGives has 180 worthy participants ranging from groups dedicated to education, fine arts, performing arts, civic discourse, hunger alleviation and environmental issues (like us).
This will be our second year of involvement in this cherished local fundraising campaign, and we are going to work a little harder connecting our message to our mission. Several of our favorite activities this year are going to be more difficult to fund because of the current budget and funding climate, so we will be sharing our stories with you. Our work with a local summer camp, Camp I Love Me, is going to be harder to fund, as is our work in environmental education for students, volunteers, and community members. These two areas will be the focus of our fundraising effort during this year’s CoMoGives campaign, and we will soon be ready to share the wonderful stories and photos with you that we have collected during our four years of activity in the community.
Because we operate with a very limited staff, we have not started to work on our CoMoGives page for the 2025 campaign, but you are free to visit our page and take a look. Much of the information we shared in 2024 will still be relevant, and we will soon be updating the page to reflect our new funding realities and our hopes and goals for 2026.
We are excited to participate in another CoMoGives Campaign with the many wonderful and deserving partners, nonprofits, and community groups in this year’s campaign. Thank you for being a part of our effort, and we look forward to sharing our story with you for many years to come!
